Sumatra’s rainforests are a treasure trove of biodiversity! From majestic orangutans to elusive tigers, these forests are home to some of the most amazing creatures on the planet (many of which are found nowhere else).

North Sumatra’s rainforests are also vital to the many millions of people who live here – they act as watersheds, absorbing huge amounts of rainfall, reducing the risks of floods, landslides, and soil erosion.

Rainforests are vital carbon sinks, absorbing huge amounts of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and helping to combat the effects of climate change. By safeguarding these ecosystems, we’re not only ensuring orangutans have a place to live, but we’re also fighting climate chaos.

By donating today, you will support vital work to protect, connect and rewild the rainforest habitats that wild orangutans and so many other species rely on.

• £15 could be doubled to £30, buying 300 eco-bags to transport seedlings to rewilding sites safely
• £30 could be doubled to £60, planting 60 fast-growing trees, which could be a nesting spot for orangutans in just 3 years
• £65 could be doubled to £130, further supporting rewilding teams to monitor tree health and growth
• £100 could be doubled to £200, enabling a local expert to identify orangutan nesting areas so we can protect the most vital areas of the rainforest.
