These remarkable creatures depend on large, connected forest habitats to find food, and raise their young, and ultimately – to survive. But right now, their future hangs in the balance.

Sumatra’s fragmented forests are a real challenge for wild orangutans. It’s not just the extent of habitat loss that’s alarming – it’s how this loss creates isolated forest patches that orangutans cannot travel between.

Entire orangutan populations could disappear suddenly due to natural disasters, disease outbreaks, or human encroachment

£15 could be doubled to £30, buying 300 eco-bags to transport seedlings to rewilding sites safely
£30 could be doubled to £60, planting 60 fast-growing trees, which could be a nesting spot for orangutans in just 3 years
£65 could be doubled to £130, further supporting rewilding teams to monitor tree health and growth
£100 could be doubled to £200, enabling a local expert to identify orangutan nesting areas so we can protect the most vital areas of the rainforest.
